Rabbi Levin shlita once talked about the words lemaan shoriray. something that is affirmed is strong. yiyasher here does not necessarily mean straight. it's like yiyasher cheilchah. it could, however, mean aligned. how does artscroll translate yiyasher? Rashi and Malbim translate shoreray as looking, watchful. Will try to check Rav Hirsch later.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30932360.post-7933459020483810642007-07-04T20:51:00.000-04:002007-07-04T20:51:00.000-04:00If I may get involved, I think yasher comes from s...If I may get involved, I think yasher comes from straight also, and by a kesuvah, it doesn't mean strength, but affirmed.Avromihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13593992238707872967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30932360.post-68627521055314931892007-07-04T20:39:00.000-04:002007-07-04T20:39:00.000-04:00I believe yiyasher means strength, like hakol shar...I believe yiyasher means strength, like hakol sharir vikayam on a kesubah.

Regarding Tzipporah, your answer makes sense.
