Daf Yomi - Beitza 7 - Hide n' Seek Egg by Reb Dave

7a – The Gemara says we assume the egg came out a little, then reentered the body, and then came out again. Rashi comments that although this is not likely, since we know chickens do not hatch at night, the egg must have come and gone in this fashion. This Rashi reminds me of Sherlock Holmes’s famous dictum, (a dictum that should be kept uppermost in mind at all times) – “When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth”.
